National Plan for Integrated and Comprehensive Water Resources Management of Ecuador’s River Basins and Micro-Basins

Ecuador’s National Plan for the Integrated Management of Water Resources in River Basins and Sub-basins establishes national water resource planning based on river basins and hydrographic zones. The Plan aims to balance water supply and demand, reduce conflicts between uses, protect water sources and ecosystems, manage flood-related risks, and ensure water availability for human consumption, food sovereignty, irrigation, productive activities, and industry. It defines actions and investments for the 2015–2025, 2026–2030, and 2031–2035 timeframes.
