Description
The Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control Law established Ecuador’s regulatory framework for preventing and controlling air, water and soil pollution through technical standards, restrictions, monitoring and institutional coordination. Its agricultural provisions addressed pollution from agricultural waste and authorized restrictions on pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. The Law was repealed by the Organic Environmental Code, effective from April 2018.
