Fecha de inicio: 01/01/2011
Fecha de fin: 31/12/2014

Description

The Family Agriculture and Rural Entrepreneurship Plan for Food and Nutritional Security (PAF) is a multi-sectoral instrument for the period 2011-2014, whose ultimate objective is to contribute to the reduction of rural poverty through the generation of wealth and well-being of families in the territories of El Salvador. To achieve this general objective, the Plan has the following four Programs: 1) National Supply Program for Food and Nutritional Security (its objective is to increase the availability, access and consumption of food through the improvement of production and supply systems of rural families); 2) Family Farming Program for Productive Linkages (its objective is to increase the net income level of rural families by improving the competitiveness of rural businesses and agricultural productive linkages; 3) Program for Agricultural Innovation (consists of providing the knowledge and technologies demanded by the actors in the agricultural value chains, necessary to increase and sustain their competitiveness in the market); 4) Industry and Trade Liaison Program (its objective is to establish coordination and incentive mechanisms with private sector companies to promote business between large companies and small and medium-sized associations of family farmers). The territorial coverage of the PAF covers the entire country, although it is planned to work in a staggered manner. In this sense, the PAF will begin operations in the 74 municipalities prioritized for their extreme poverty, through the National Food Security Supply Program (PAN). Other territories prioritized by the National Development Strategy will be served by the PAF through the Family Agriculture Program for Productive Linkages (PAP).
