Law 8285 on the Creation of the Rice Corporation

This Law transforms the Rice Office into the National Rice Corporation, whose main objective is to establish a regime of relations between rice producers and agro-industrialists, which guarantees the rational and equitable participation of both sectors in this economic activity and, in addition, promotes the levels of competitiveness and the development of the rice activity. The Corporation will be responsible for the protection and promotion of the national rice industry as a whole: agricultural production, agroindustrial process, local trade, exports and imports.
