The objective of the project is to create a program to attract emerging and innovative companies to develop biomaterials that can take advantage of Costa Rica's biodiversity for the development of new products, services and industrial processes. Activities to be developed include: (i) legal, technical, and business advisory services to establish the value proposition of the Biomaterials Hub, considering the possibility of attracting projects and memberships (includes visits to research centers); (ii) the promotion of the potential of the use of biological materials and additive manufacturing among rural youth, which will allow capacity building among them and capture ancestral knowledge for the benefit of the Hub (includes mapping and characterization of biodiversity); (iii) the launching of challenges under open innovation mechanisms; (iv) the acceleration of emerging companies; (v) the development of talent through a scientific and technological training program aimed at master's and doctoral students and company employees; and (vi) business roundtables for the development of linkages related to the use of biodiversity.
