Organic Law on the Popular and Solidarity Economy and the Popular and Solidarity Financial Sector

The Organic Law on the Popular and Solidarity Economy and the Popular and Solidarity Financial Sector establishes Ecuador’s legal framework for recognizing, promoting, regulating and strengthening cooperative, associative, community-based and popular economic organizations and their financial sector. Its agri-food relevance includes support to small farmers, producer organizations, rural communities and productive units through organization, commercialization, finance and capacity-building mechanisms.
