Description

The Plan contains the general guidelines that are binding and mandatory whenever programs or projects affecting agroecological lands are carried out or implemented, as stated in Article 11 of Law No. 7779 on the use, management, and conservation of soils. It also aims to promote the improvement and conservation oriented development of these lands through a participatory extension, planning, and implementation system, in accordance with the socio-economic situation of landowners, identifying technical options. The scope of application establishes that all ministries, decentralized institutions, state mixed economy companies, as well as the private sector, in their plans, programs, projects, and activities involving land use, must comply with the regulations outlined in this National Plan for Soil Use, Management, and Conservation. All individuals or legal entities, whether public or private, are obligated to follow the best practices of soil use, management, and conservation, in line with the guidelines and in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
