Resolution 36/2019 establishing the scope of the regulatory framework for Genetically Modified Plant Organisms with respect to new breeding techniques in Argentina

Description

This resolution establishes the procedures to determine the scope of the regulation of plant genetically modified organisms in relation to new breeding techniques based on modern biotechnology and the accumulation of biotechnological events. It also establishes the procedures for the risk analysis performed by the National Advisory Commission on Agricultural Biotechnology (CONABIA) as a prerequisite for the commercial authorization of these organisms. The regulations for determining the scope of the regulatory framework and performing the risk analysis, together with the application for risk analysis of genetically modified plant organisms are approved as annexes.
