Fecha de inicio: 15/01/2018
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

This resolution, issued by the National Biosafety Technical Commission (CTNBio), focuses on the evaluation of Innovative Precision Breeding Techniques (TIMP) in accordance with Law No. 11,105 of 2005. It defines examples of TIMPs, highlighting that they may result in products that are not considered Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) under the law. It establishes that TIMP products must meet certain characteristics, such as the absence of recombinant DNA/RNA and no permanent modification of the genome. It also recognizes the possibility that new technologies may emerge in the future, to which these precepts will apply, and clarifies how it affects products obtained from GMOs with CTNBio's commercial approval.
