This was built around three sectors considered strategic for development: agrifood, logistics and health. Indeed, they were selected because of their contribution to GDP and employment, but also because there are relevant scientific, technological and innovation capabilities to promote them; there is an innovation ecosystem around them that includes higher education institutions, research centers and companies. These economic activities, due to their territorial distribution, have a high impact on regional development and great social importance, are aligned with the Government's Strategic Plan and the PENCYT 2019-2024. The agri-food innovation agenda, in particular, aims to contribute to sustainable food production to meet the needs of a growing population, the equitable development of countries and the environmental sustainability of its operations.
