Description
The eight Amazonian countries (Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Suriname, Guyana, Bolivia, Brazil and Venezuela), established a roadmap to guarantee the survival of the rainforest, with measures for water management, security, health, sustainable infrastructure and the promotion of the human rights of traditional peoples. The summit declaration urged the more developed nations to fulfill their commitment to finance rainforest care, adopted in various global forums and which would translate into the payment of 100 billion dollars (some 9.1 billion euros) annually in climate finance.
