Law No. 31814 Promoting the Use of Artificial Intelligence for the Economic and Social Development of Peru

Law No. 31814 establishes Peru's national framework for promoting the development and use of artificial intelligence within the national digital transformation process, prioritizing people, human rights and the safe, ethical, sustainable, transparent and responsible use of AI technologies. It establishes principles related to risk management, stakeholder participation, digital governance, privacy and responsible AI development; promotes digital talent and the use of AI across public services and economic and social activities; and designates the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, through the Secretariat of Government and Digital Transformation, as the national technical and regulatory authority.
