Supreme Decree Nº 067-2023-PCM declaring the State of Emergency due to imminent danger in the face of water deficit as a consequence of the possible El Niño Phenomenon in Peru

Supreme Decree declaring the State of Emergency in several districts of some provinces of the departments of Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Junín, Pasco, Puno and Tacna, due to imminent danger due to water deficit as a consequence of the possible El Niño Phenomenon. The aforementioned Regional Governments, and the Local Governments included, with the technical coordination and follow-up of the National Civil Defense Institute (INDECI) and the participation of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Defense, and other public and private institutions involved, will execute the exceptional, immediate and necessary measures and actions to reduce the Very High Risk existing, as well as corresponding response and rehabilitation. These actions must have a direct causal link between the interventions and the event, and may be modified according to the needs and security elements that arise during their execution, supported by the technical studies of the competent entities.
