Supreme Decree No. 067-2023-PCM Declaring a State of Emergency Due to Imminent Water Deficit Risk Associated with El Niño

Supreme Decree No. 067-2023-PCM declares a 60-day State of Emergency in 131 districts located in selected provinces of Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Junín, Pasco, Puno and Tacna due to the imminent risk of water deficit associated with a possible El Niño event. The measure authorizes the corresponding regional and local governments, under the coordination and monitoring of INDECI and with the participation of national government sectors, to implement exceptional and immediate risk-reduction, response and rehabilitation actions. The declaration considers the exposure of population, agricultural land, pastures and livestock to water deficit.
