National Water Policy

Fecha de inicio: 30/07/2010
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The National Water Policy strengthens the legal and institutional framework to promote Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) as a process of modernisation of the water sector in Honduras; to respond to national challenges, establishing the various objectives that guide the actions of the State and determine the direction of water policies; recognising that such management should be conducted in harmony with the sustainable development of the country. Access to and sustainable use of water is of benefit to the entire population, achieving a fair balance in the weight given to each of the principles of sustainable development: economic efficiency, social equity and environmental sustainability.
