Description

The general objective of the forestry policy is to reverse the processes that degrade and destroy the forest resource, promote the valorisation of the goods and services of forest ecosystems to increase their contribution to the national economy; reduce poverty and the environmental vulnerability of the population and its territory, through the consolidation of a participatory and decentralised model of forestry, protected areas and wildlife management. The strategic guidelines of this forestry policy are as follows: 1. Sustainable Forest Management and Management, 2. Economic development of natural protected areas, 3. Participation of the population in sustainable forestry management, 4. Integrated watershed management, 5. Conservation, Ecosystem Restoration and Climate Change, 6. Integrated control of illegal logging and illegal trade in forest products and wildlife, 7. Institutional strengthening and modernisation.
