Agricultural Emergency in Livestock, Dairy, Horticulture, Fruit and Agriculture (Resolution No. 958/022 MGAP)
Fecha de inicio:
21/10/2022
Fecha de fin:

Description
In October 2022, a 90-day emergency was declared for the livestock, dairy, horticulture, fruit, and agriculture sectors due to a water and forage deficit. This measure takes into account demands from producers, climate studies, and information from local governments, among other sources. The ongoing drought and the prevalence of the climatological phenomenon known as La Niña are affecting winter crops and the start of the Southern Hemisphere summer crops. They also impact pastures and livestock feed. In September 2023, the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries once again extended the emergency agricultural measures due to the water deficit, until the end of the year (December 2023), with the aim of continuing credit assistance programs to address the effects caused by the drought. Some of the actions that will remain in effect include soft loans negotiated with the Central Bank, deferred rental payments, support from the National Colonization Institute, and a discount on the monthly electricity bill.
