Peru: Creation of the permanent Multisectoral Commission called the National Coffee Council Resolution Nº 002-2021-MINAGRI

Description

In order to promote the development of coffee growing at the national level, with special emphasis on Family Farming producers, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) has created a permanent Multisectorial Commission, called “National Executive Coffee Council” under Resolution No. 002-2021-MINAGRI. This council will have among its main functions the follow-up and monitoring of the implementation of the Peruvian National Coffee Action Plan 2019-2030, approved by Supreme Decree No. 010-2019, as well as the preparation of technical reports evaluating the progress of said plan. In addition, the Council will be established as a space for dialogue and articulation, in charge of proposing measures to strengthen coffee growing in the country, issuing biannual technical reports with strategic recommendations for the development of the sector, and defining priorities that guide international cooperation towards coffee activity.
