Description

The Authority for the Sustainable Management of the Lake Amatitlán Basin, with the specific purpose of planning, coordinating and executing all measures and actions of the public and private sector that are necessary to recover the ecosystem of Lake Amatitlán and all its tributary basins. To better achieve its objectives, the Authority for the Sustainable Management of the Lake Amatitlán Basin is composed of the Executive Directorate, which issues the guidelines and mechanisms for implementing the Integrated Management Plan of the Basin -PLANDEMAT-, and will have the necessary agencies to be defined in the Regulations to be issued for this purpose. The representation of the different sectors involved in the use of the basin and lake resources, the Departmental Governor of Guatemala, who presides over the Authority, the Vice-Presidency of the Republic, the Commander of the Guatemala South Military Region, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance, the Ministry of Agriculture, The Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Attorney General's Office, the Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Public Prosecutor's Office, representatives of the municipalities within the Tributary Watershed territory, the National Environmental Commission - CONAMA. Committee of Agricultural, Commercial, Industrial and Financial Chambers -CACIF.
