Law on forestry incentives for owners of small tracts of land for forestry or agroforestry purposes –PINPEP- (CONGRESS DECREE 51-2010) - GUATEMALA

The purpose of this Law is to create a forestry incentive program for owners of small tracts of land for forestry or agroforestry vocation, this Law contributes to sustainable forest management of forests, by complying with giving participation to the holders of those tracts of lands with a forest or agroforestry vocation, in the benefits of economic incentives in forestry, incorporates the modality of establishment and maintenance of agroforestry systems to the beneficiaries of this Law, Promotes gender equity, prioritizing the participation of groups of women in the management of natural forests, establishment and maintenance of forest plantations and agroforestry systems, generates employment in rural areas through the establishment and maintenance of natural forest management projects, forest plantations and agroforestry systems, promotes forest biodiversity.
