Colombian Environmental Seal (SAC) – Resolution 1555 of 2005

The Colombian Environmental Seal (SAC), regulated through Resolution 1555 of 2005, is a voluntary Type I ecolabelling scheme that identifies goods and services with a comparatively better environmental performance than other products within the same category. The right to use the seal is granted through independent third-party certification to products and services that comply with previously established environmental criteria. The instrument seeks to provide consumers with verifiable environmental information, encourage demand and production of environmentally friendly goods and services, improve market access and positioning of products with better environmental performance, and promote clean and sustainable processes, techniques and technologies.
