Guatemala: Policy for the Integrated Management of Coastal Marine Areas (Governmental Agreement No. 328-2009).

This policy will help solve the complex socio-environmental problems in coastal marine areas, with the opening of spaces, ways and mechanisms to ensure the responsible participation of all sectors involved in economic and social development, without undermining the protection of the environment and ecological balance. A priority will be the creation and establishment of alliances and agreements with the authorities of the different levels of government, as well as with the strategic sectors of Guatemalan society in general.
