Canadas Bioeconomy Strategy is a national-level, multi-sectoral document that aims to capitalize on the opportunities of an industrial bioeconomy that has competitive advantages for Canada, including access to biomass, global leadership in forestry and agriculture, sustainable resource management. The strategys vision is to promote the countrys industrial bioeconomy. The vision of the Strategy is to promote maximum valorization of Canadian biomass and waste while advancing the goals of a reduced carbon footprint and effective stewardship of natural capital for generations. The Strategy recommends action in four key priority areas: (1) Creating agile government regulation and policy; (2) Establishing biomass supply and natural capital stewardship, including agriculture and forestry; (3) Building strong businesses and value chains; and (4) Building strong sustainable innovation ecosystems with an emphasis on value chain creation, job training and skills development.
