EU adopts maintenance and adaptation package

The maintenance and adaptation package introduces a new ban on the purchase, import or transfer of gold, directly or indirectly, if it originates from Russia and has been exported from Russia to the EU or then to a third country. This prohibition also applies to jewelry. In addition, in order to avoid possible negative impacts on global food and energy security, the EU has decided to extend the derogation from the prohibition on transactions with certain entities to transactions in agricultural products and the transport of oil to third countries.
