Description

The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy 2015-2030 seeks to respond to the changes and challenges facing the fisheries and aquaculture sector in El Salvador, defining strategic axes to ensure sustainable social and economic benefits. It is conceptualized as a State Policy based on the superior interests of the country and the sector, coherent with existing laws, plans and programs. Its general objective is to improve the conditions of fisheries and aquaculture to consolidate as a sustainable, profitable sector, provider of good quality food, stable sources of work and wealth for the country. It contributes to food and nutritional security through short, medium and long-term strategies with a focus on business development and environmental sustainability.
