Law 2193 of 2022 – Mechanisms for the Promotion and Development of Beekeeping in Colombia

Law 2193 of 2022 establishes mechanisms to promote and develop beekeeping and related activities in Colombia, recognizing beekeeping as a strategic activity for agricultural production, biodiversity protection and climate change adaptation. The law provides for the formulation of a national beekeeping policy and includes measures related to apiary registration and census, financing, insurance, animal health and food safety, good beekeeping practices, training, research and innovation, public procurement, market promotion, producer associations, payments for ecosystem services and the protection of bees and other pollinators.
