Law 2219 of 2022 – Legal Framework for the Establishment and Operation of Peasant and Agricultural Associations

Law 2219 of 2022 establishes the legal framework for the establishment, classification, registration, certification, operation, inspection, oversight and control of peasant and agricultural associations in Colombia. The law seeks to facilitate their relationship with public administration and strengthen their participation and influence in the planning, implementation and monitoring of policies and programs related to the peasant sector, rural development and the Comprehensive Rural Reform. It also defines the responsibilities of competent authorities, basic organizational rules and institutional participation mechanisms.
