Law 2227 of 2022 – Creation of the Panela and Molasses Price Stabilization Fund

Law 2227 of 2022 creates the Panela and Molasses Price Stabilization Fund to establish mechanisms aimed at stabilizing the income of panela producers. The Fund operates as a special account administered by the National Federation of Panela Producers (Fedepanela), establishes mechanisms to stabilize domestic prices paid to producers, provides for compensation payments and financial price-risk management mechanisms, and may be financed through public resources, contributions from panela producers, parafiscal resources, royalties, loans, donations and other sources established by law.
