Bio Climate Project in Nicaragua (FP 146 GCF)

Description

The project aims to restore degraded forest landscapes in the most biodiversity rich region of Nicaragua, and to channel investments into sustainable land-use management and forest management. It supports the implementation of the national REDD+ strategy, aiming to reduce 47.3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂eq) in emissions through reducing deforestation over 20 years.
