The agricultural policy indicates that food is a human right, therefore, the State must ensure the protection and enactment of the right for citizens to have adequate access to food, as well as promote production in family agriculture, which is intended to be implemented with the policy and serve part of the population. Through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, a relationship is established with the Central American Strategy for Territorial Rural Development (ECADERT) in order to encompass the Plan of the Alliance for Prosperity of the Northern Triangle. There are four strategic axes: increasing the productivity of family farmers, marketing, access to markets and standards and regulations, renewable natural resources and climate change, and institutional management with other policies related to the topic.
