Peru: Creation of the National Seal of Organic Production (Supreme Decree Nº 002-2020-MINAGRI)

Peru was one of the few countries that did not have a distinctive seal for its chemical-free products. This is coming to an end, after MINAGRI approved the creation of a seal that will be placed on the label of certified organic products prior to commercialisation. The seal will contribute to competitiveness by positioning the countrys image on the main Peruvian organic products destined for the national and international market, such as bananas, cocoa, quinoa and coffee, among other products.
