Fecha de inicio: 01/09/2021
Fecha de fin: 01/09/2030

Description

The Dominican Republic incorporates in this roadmap the description of the national dialogues convened by the Ministry of Agriculture, which formed an Internal Secretariat for its coordination, as well as the independent dialogues, in the main planning instruments of the country, ensuring alignment with the goals and indicators contained in its institutional framework. The roadmap highlights the following proposals collected in the dialogues: First, the production and supply of post-Covid-19 food, identifying production needs, implementing the census of producers, enabling collection centers, promoting the application of plant breeding, adding export markets and creating strategic alliances between small, medium and large processors, among others. Secondly, the diet and nutrition of the population as a key pillar in human and social development, reinforcing food education from childhood, with the adoption of legislation for labeling and nutritional data, and strengthening Food Guides. And thirdly, climate change and its impact on agricultural production, through greater government articulation, increasing the recording capacity of meteorological stations, a digital climate information bank, integrated water management, the implementation of territorial ordering systems, promotion of sustainable agricultural practices and environmental education, among others.
