National Irrigation and Drainage Plan

The National Government of Ecuador is promoting the National Irrigation Plan projected until 2027. The purpose is to expand coverage and improve irrigation efficiency, by strengthening irrigation organizations. The Plan provides for strengthening the institutional framework and improving the capacities of the State. In addition, it promotes the equitable redistribution of flows from a legal approach to guarantee the quality and quantity of water for irrigation, and thus exercise stewardship, planning, regulation; and monitoring of the integrated management of irrigation and drainage at the national level.
