Honduras presented an official roadmap for the transformation of the countrys food system to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The countrys strategy focuses its efforts on ensuring food security and nutrition, not only by transforming its food system, but also by guiding actions for its recovery after the crises that occurred in 2020. The goal is to develop a resilient, fair, equitable and sustainable food system that is the engine of social transformation and offers better opportunities and quality of life. The country prioritizes two of the five action paths proposed at the Summit (promoting equitable livelihoods and building resilience to vulnerabilities), for which different actions are established: strengthening public policies to improve financial inclusion and technical assistance for small producers and MSMEs; promoting a fair marketing policy for producers and consumers; supporting institutional strengthening and community organization and associations at the local level; promoting land use planning and integrated watershed management through soil management, agroforestry systems, best practices and diversification of production.
