Description
Peru delivers 180 tons of island guano, or manure, to nearly 6,000 small farmers in the Chancay valley, north of Lima, to guarantee their crops in the face of rising international fertilizer prices. At the same time, through the AGRO RURAL program, the sector has been working to increase the extraction of island guano and phosphate guano from 20,000 to 60,000 tons, in order to provide natural fertilizers for small farmers' crops.
