El Salvador presented a roadmap based on a sustainable food system model, which proposes to advance in governance through the renewal and strengthening of the National Food and Nutrition Security Policy (FNS) and the strengthening of the countrys institutional framework. Participation mechanisms are established such as strategic alliances at the institutional, national and regional levels, coordination platforms and multisectoral support networks at three levels and spaces for coordination and dialogue with civil society and the private sector. To develop sustainable food systems, it is proposed to encourage responsible and sustainable consumption; promote a more competitive agriculture through technical assistance and innovation and technology; promote the management and reduction of climate change and promote land-use planning for equitable access to the means of production.
