Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Ecuador to allocate USD 14 million to subsidize agricultural packages/n

The delivery will begin on July 1, 2022, in which the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Ecuador will deliver agricultural packages with certified seeds, phytosanitary inputs and fertilizers to small farmers in the face of rising prices of agricultural inputs. The subsidy will cover from 60% of the market price of these products that will benefit more than 20,000 producers of more than eleven crops (banana, rice, corn, potato, coffee, cocoa, plantain, bean, bell pepper, tree tomato, avocado and other fruits, as well as packages with improved pasture seeds). The delivery of the agricultural packages will be developed within the National Seed Project for Strategic Agrochains, which has been operating since 2014.
