CONPES Document 4001 of 2020 – Declaration of Strategic Importance of the National Project for Universal Access to Information and Communication Technologies in Rural or Remote Areas

Policy document approved by Colombia's National Council for Economic and Social Policy declaring the National Project for Universal Access to Information and Communication Technologies in Rural or Remote Areas to be of strategic importance. The project seeks to promote digital inclusion by providing public Internet access in at least 9,410 and up to 10,000 population centers across Colombia's 32 departments, prioritizing rural public schools. The intervention includes the installation, operation and maintenance of connectivity infrastructure, activities aimed at promoting ICT use and appropriation, and mechanisms designed to improve the efficiency and sustainability of public investment.
