Description

The Ministry of Agriculture of Ecuador is proposing an "Emergency Plan for small banana producers" (with an allocated budget of US$5 million), whose objective is to provide an economic subsidy to small banana producers registered with the institution, in an initial stage, of up to 10 hectares, in the provinces affected by the economic crisis caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has resulted in the impact of Black Sigatoka on their plantations. The plan includes the economic subsidy of up to a certain amount of plants with clusters calculated per hectare, which would benefit more than 4,000 small producers starting in the next few days.
