Description

The objective of the law is to "eliminate any type of speculation" on quotas, so that they are not used as "a mercantile element", because they are "a public asset temporarily ceded" to the private sphere and must be worthy of "the best allocation". In addition, it mentions the requirements to be able to develop the activity and redefines the General Registry of the Fishing Fleet, enhances the measures for the defense and regeneration of fishing resources, addresses the management of recreational fishing in external waters, the creation of a Fishing Advisory Forum and the promotion of fishing research.
