Description

The main objective of this environmental measure is to prevent carbon leakage, as well as to encourage partner countries to establish carbon pricing policies to fight climate change. CBAM decreases imports of carbon-intensive products to avoid offsetting the EUs greenhouse gas emission reduction efforts through imports of products manufactured in non-EU countries.
