Description

The first establishes the general provisions, including the general objective and the principles and duties of the parties involved, among others. The second, contains strategic lines and actions to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in the Andean region, including: 1) strengthening governance, both institutional and regulatory, and 2) sectoral measures such as cultural transformation and capacity building; knowledge management and information exchange; guidelines for port entry and use; control and supervision of fishing activities; protection of maritime areas, overexploited and endangered species; market access; coastal populations and incentive for artisanal and small-scale fishing. Finally, the third title establishes recommendations for guidelines for control, protection and coordinated maritime surveillance.
