Law 1978 of 2019 – Law on the Modernization of the Information and Communications Technology Sector

Law modernizing Colombia's institutional and regulatory framework for the information and communications technology sector in order to increase legal certainty, encourage investment, facilitate infrastructure deployment and target resources toward closing the digital divide. The Law prioritizes ICT access for poor and vulnerable populations and for rural and remote areas, strengthens universal access and service mechanisms, and provides for the use of resources from the Unified ICT Fund to promote technology adoption and productive use of ICT in the rural sector.
