Mexico - Federal Law for the Promotion and Protection of Native Maize

Description

The purpose of this Law is to declare the activities of production, commercialization and consumption of Native Maize and in Constant diversification, as a cultural manifestation in accordance with Article 3 of the General Law of Culture and Cultural Rights. To declare the protection of Native Maize and Constant Diversification in all matters relating to its production, commercialization, and consumption, as an obligation of the State to guarantee the human right to nutritious, sufficient, and quality food, established in the third paragraph of Article 4 of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, and to establish non-institutional mechanisms for the protection and promotion of Native Maize and in Constant Diversification.
