Supreme Decree No. 005-2022-MIDAGRI – Regulation on Land Classification by Major Land-Use Capability

Supreme Decree approving the Regulation on Land Classification by Major Land-Use Capability, which establishes rules and procedures to determine the most appropriate use and management of land according to soil, climate, relief and vegetation-cover characteristics. The Regulation applies nationwide and seeks to promote rational and sustainable land use, prevent ecosystem degradation and guide the management and conservation of soil and related natural resources. The classification includes soil and vegetation-cover studies and distinguishes land suitable for annual crops, permanent crops, pastures, forestry and protection.
