Peru: Regulations for the Classification of Land by Their Capacity for Greater Use (Supreme Decree No. 05-2022-MIDAGRI)

The purpose of these Regulations, approved by Supreme Decree No. 05-2022-MIDAGRI, is to establish the rules that regulate the procedure for the Classification of Land according to its Major Use Capacity, promoting its application at the national level. Its main objective is to promote the rational and sustained use of soils, aimed at maximizing social and economic benefits, within the framework of the principles of sustainable development and ecosystem conservation. This regulatory framework is mandatory for land users in agricultural activities, as well as for public and private entities, including regional and local governments.
