Fecha de inicio: 02/08/2019
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The Law establishes the Policy to Prevent Food Loss and Waste. Its objective is to implement measures that reduce these phenomena, contributing to sustainable development through social inclusion, environmental sustainability and economic development. The law promotes awareness, training and mobilization of all actors in the food supply chain, prioritizing human consumption of food before its destination for other uses such as animal feed or renewable energy production. Specific objectives include contributing to the food and nutritional security of the population, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting efficient food systems. In addition, the donation of food suitable for human consumption to non-profit organizations is promoted and a measurement and control system is established by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).
