Peru: Program to Boost Private Investment Financing in the Peruvian Amazon - Opportunity to Leverage Bio-business PE-L1258

Project PE-L1258, called “Boosting private investment financing in the Peruvian Amazon - an opportunity to leverage the bioeconomy”, is jointly executed by COFIDE, the Ministry of the Environment (Minam) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The main objective of this initiative is to stimulate private investment in sustainable bio-businesses in the Peruvian Amazon region through two priority lines of action: - Development and strengthening of COFIDE's biobusiness portfolio, in collaboration with entities specialized in business and technical advice, as well as accelerators, incubators and innovation centers, to promote sustainable ventures in the Amazon. - Consolidation of institutional capacities in COFIDE, aimed at monitoring the financial and socio-environmental performance of the bio-businesses financed by the program, as well as strengthening its participation in impact investment markets, in order to attract external capital to help expand investment in the bioeconomy through the special purpose vehicle (SPV).
