Global Agrifood Systems Outlook to 2050: Informing Decisions for an Uncertain Future

Virtual policy seminar organized by IFPRI in collaboration with the CGIAR Science Program on Policy Innovations to launch the Global Agrifood Systems Outlook to 2050. The event examines long-term perspectives on the evolution of agrifood systems and presents scenarios related to diets, agricultural production, trade, food security, and natural resource use. The agenda includes key findings from the report, a thematic analysis of productivity and resources, a regional focus on Africa and trade, and a panel discussion on the implications of the findings for development, policy, research, and practice. The event also considers how the findings can contribute to the CGIAR and broader policy research agenda and support strategic planning by decision-makers facing future agrifood system challenges.
