The first session of the "El Niño Intersubregional Cooperation Dialogues: Protecting Our Populations" focused on food security and nutrition, livelihoods, and adaptive social protection. The session was expected to address the current state of the El Niño phenomenon and its projections for the region, the risks to food availability and access, and adaptive social protection mechanisms (transfers, food assistance, or other schemes) for populations vulnerable to climate shocks.
