Event detail:

In celebration of Black History Month, the AFN Network+ is hosting a virtual event exploring the intersection of food justice, climate resilience, and cultural sustainability. We will highlight the importance of seed saving and self-sufficiency, contrasting these practices with the current commercial models in the UK. We are excited to welcome guest speakers Carol Adams, founder of Food Adventure Social Enterprise Ltd, manager of Cardiff Farmers Markets and Back to Our Roots: Growing and Sharing Without Borders, and Tenesia Pascal, founder of Earth to Earth Organics and Earth Farm Limited. Both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, promising a stimulating discussion around these vital topics. Attendees will engage in conversations about building fair, affordable, and accessible food systems that reduce climate impact and support Black and ethnically diverse communities. This event will bring together academics, industry leaders, and third-sector professionals to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and dialogue on equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the agri-food sector. You will reflect on current EDI practices, explore inclusive approaches within agriculture and food systems, and build partnerships that drive meaningful change.
