This event addresses the discussion on the transmission of global food prices to domestic markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition, two recent World Bank reports are presented, the first one analyzing the effect of the transmission of global prices to domestic food prices in Central America. The second one focuses on Chile and Colombia and assesses the impact of the 2022 price shocks of corn and wheat on import prices.
